Hmmm.....
Chihuahua Pearl, by Jean Giraud, by me. Pastel.

Pastel, from a photo.

Pencil from photo.
I overworked this drawing, making it lose the impact that the beginning sketch had.
But I found myself drawing more fluidly than before I started to play with pastels. :)

I've been busier than usual in the last 2 weeks. After Christmas I may be able to get back to actually doing a drawing a day!

Life drawing yesterday. On the second page, top left, the head is probably a bit too small.... :P

I've been looking through some Moebius work. Miyazaki, John Sanden and Carl Larsson too.

First 3 pics are from life drawing I went to on Wednesday. I felt like I couldn't really capture the figure the whole session (2 hours), until right at the end when I sketched the projector - looks just like it!
Last one is pen on paper, I tried to do it as fast as I could. Comments/crits please!

The pointy bit at the top left is the tower in Brandon Hill park in the centre of Bristol.

Scrat from the Ice Age films. This is a copy of a drawing by Peter de Seve, who designed Scrat and many other characters in the film.
I recommend this short Scrat video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIZzpGLb7i4
The animation is brilliant! The guys doing the film did an amazing job capturing the character from the original sketches.

Let's see if anyone can recognise these two! Post your answers in the comments...
...
Yep, it's a drawing of Rihanna with Eminem.

So... this is the 4th day I'm missing. 2 of those I didn't draw at all. Bad I know.
I've got a drawing on the go which should be finished in the next couple of days...

Thursday, 14 October 2010

I've done some drawing today, but it's a work in progress which I should finish tomorrow...
I'd like to put something a little more polished up this time.

Don't know what model of car this is, but I do know I like it!

Something a bit different today: I've gone for the traditional still life (but with bananas to add a touch of modernity). This is quite a small drawing (about half an A5 page); done using only a blue coloured pencil.

From "Anatomy for the Artist" by Sarah Simblet. Went climbing today, so I chose this anatomy image which is vaguely related.
